How much do dentures cost?

Costs for different types of dentures; acrylic, metal, flexible vary between patients. There are unexpected variables to be taken into consideration such as; the type of denture, material of denture, the quantity of teeth replacements, teeth extractions (if required), gum treatment, and consultations that must be taken into account.

As a result from each plan being unique, fixed quotes without prior examination are difficult to determine due to unknown conditions. Therefore we accommodate Free Initial Consultations for Quotes to allow our specialists to proper evaluate patients oral health. This also includes examination of both teeth and gums. What is the difference between partial and full dentures?

Full dentures are generally recommended for individuals that require a significant amount of teeth replacement, such as; for people that are missing all teeth in a row. This often requires full replacement of the entire row.

In contrast, partial dentures refer to teeth replacement of several teeth. Therefore, this alternative is recommended for patients with one or more remaining teeth in either the upper or lower jaw. Partial dentures consist of replacement teeth combined with different materials such as acrylic, metal, or flexible materials that hold the structure together. Materials may differ in preference by a dentist and patient budget. Due to partial dentures addressing the gaps between missing teeth, they often prevent the additional movement of other teeth that may cause further misalignment. Partial dentures clasp onto existing teeth to minimize displacement.

As a consequence of being thinner and smaller, metal dentures or flexible partial dentures cause less damage towards other teeth while also providing more comfort.

Do I need an Immediate Denture or Conventional Denture?

Immediate Dentures

Immediate Dentures are prescribed by a dentist immediately after the removal of natural teeth. They are a quick alternative for situations where natural teeth have been surgically removed by a dentist. Our in-house Dental Technicians at Elite Dental Lab can promptly mold and accurately design immediate dentures for those undergoing tooth extraction surgery on the same day. More importantly, it’s essential to not remove immediate dentures once they have been applied within the first 24 hours post surgery. Immediate Dentures are applied after surgery to assist in the healing process and help to protect the area after oral surgery, reduce swelling, exposure and bleeding.

Elite Dental Lab’s, Prosthetists accurately take impressions or digital scans of patients either on the day or just a few days prior, while natural teeth are still in their current positions.

Using the latest in digital technologies our team perform computer simulated extractions to ensure accuracy and attention to detail for when denture teeth are to replace natural teeth on the immediate denture design. Working alongside experienced dental technicians, crown & gum lining designs are applied to the denture for natural appearance.

Conventional Dentures

Conventional Dentures are designed and inserted after the health process has been completed. They are custom fitted to be the final requirement in the denture recommended process. Therefore after the initial surgeries performed by your dentist, impressions and initial trial fittings, the end result of a conventional denture should be the final application. As a result for the natural healing process of both teeth and gums to complete, the duration to when the conventional denture is applied vary between patients. In the end, the date could be several weeks post surgery. Call (07) 5596 5388 for more information.

What are Acrylic Dentures?

Full Acrylic Dentures are primarily made from plastic acrylic compounds. Since they’re made of a plastic, they’re the most cost effective of the denture types. A removable appliance to substitute missing teeth, acrylic dentures are larger than other dentures and are usually recommended for patients that have a larger number of teeth missing. As a result, they can be obstructive to wear for some patients and since upper dentures cover a prominent area of the top palate this may affect taste.

Communication and eating should not be effected if the acrylic denture has been designed and applied correctly.

Due to their cost effectiveness and simple treatment process, acrylic dentures tend to be a popular option for patients looking for fast and economical results. On average acrylic dentures are recommended to be replaced every 5 to 8 years.

What are Metal Dentures?

Our chrome metal dentures are our most popular denture option due to their strength, durability and comfort. With result of being built from a metal structure, they tend to last longer without losing shape. This provides additional support to other teeth that may naturally move. In comparison to acrylic dentures, metal dentures do not cover the entire top plate allowing a better sense of taste.

Similar to flexible dentures, they are fitted and supported by your remaining teeth.

Equally as important, the resin gum lining is coloured specifically to the patient along with digitally rendered crowns that are matched identically to your existing teeth.

All components are digitally designed and made in our Gold Coast dental laboratory to ensure precise fittings and utmost quality.
